So this is a bit late but on Christmas day Lil’ Wayne released “The Leak” two months before his full length album “The Carter III” comes out. This album is available for digital download only, you can find it at amazon.com, rhapsody.com, and other digital providers. Now anyone new to Lil’ Wayne music might go and buy this 5 track EP, but to those of us who are frequent listeners and fans know that these tracks have been leaked before and come as nothing new to us.
Here is the track listing for “The Leak”:
“I’m Me”
“Gossip”
| |
“Kush”
“Love Me or Hate Me”
“Talkin About It”
Now that, that’s out of the way for the people blogging and commenting on other blogs about Wayne not going platinum with this album, it’s not meant to. This album was to gauge his hype and to see if people were still hungry enough for Lil Wayne to actually buy this album of songs that had been leaked awhile ago. Well it sold over 2,000 or so copies digitally. While some look at it and say those numbers suck Lupe did 200k well, sit back and think about that comment. Lupe just released his “album”, Lil’ Wayne just released a “leak” of only 5 tracks that quite frankly we have all heard before, for us to get a good gauge on where Wayne stands amongst the hip hop community I guess we will have to wait on “Tha Carter III”.
